My friend Oryne and I set out early one morning to visit the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art in Karaköy. It was such a beautiful morning and we felt so cheerful. The sea breeze was refreshing, and the glorious sun was just perfect at that time of the day. We took plenty of photos outside of the museum while waiting for the opening time (10am). Established in 2004, the museum is located on what was formerly a warehouse.

The entrance fee is 20 Lira, and an additional 5 Lira for an audio guide (optional). I wouldn’t say that the museum is on par with, say, Tate Modern, but their current exhibition, “New Works, New Horizons” has some really interesting pieces by local artists.
